We at 2BrightSparks recognize how important freeware is to the Internet community, and we've developed our fair share of great cost-free solutions. Here's your chance to find out the kinds of freeware we have to offer that you can use for yourself, or pass on to your friends and colleagues.

SyncBackFree

The very first and probably the most popular freeware, which sparked the beginning of 2BrightSparks is SyncBackFree. SyncBackFree is a program that allows you to easily backup and synchronize your files to the same drive, or a different drive or medium (which include external drives, an FTP server, a Network or to a Zip archive). It is perfect for computer users who simply require basic backup and synchronization.

Every computer user needs to backup their data files, regardless of how this task is done - manually, which involves going from folder to folder and copying and pasting files to an external media, or automatically. If automatic backup is what you're after, then you're in luck. SyncBackFree allows you to schedule backups to an external medium as frequently or infrequently as you like.

Although being freeware, there are a number of features that will prove very useful. Like the ability to email log files to report if a backup profile ran unsuccessfully, the ability to choose and filter files and folders that need or do not need to be backed up and even the ability to backup to FTP. SyncBackFree even comes in many language versions to better cater to a wider community of computer users.

OnClick Utilities

Our suite of file management tools, known as OnClick Utilities, contains several very useful programs that will make your computer experience less frustrating - and they're all completely free!

Let's start with DeleteOnClick, which securely deletes files that you want removed beyond any chance of recovery. DeleteOnClick follows secure file deletion standards and permanently deletes files on any physical drive visible by windows in a single click.

EncryptOnClick is your solution to ensuring highly secure files and folders and keeps them safe from unwanted prying hands. The user is presented with a very simple user interface that allows you to choose either a file or folder to encrypt. Once that is decided upon, you will be prompted for a password and that's it! Decrypting your encrypted files and folders is just as easy, but remember, you hold the key to your encrypted files -- don't lose that key!

Then there is HashOnClick, which is a very helpful piece of software that can validate if any 2 files are identical. This is particularly useful for people who work with files that are constantly being updated and need to share that file with colleagues in a workplace, for example. It also serves as a form of security as you will be able to ensure that the file received has not been tampered with. While on the subject of sharing and security, there are 2 other freeware programs that would prove useful: EncryptOnClick and PatchOnClick.

PatchOnClick, which is an excellent piece of software, is useful for sharing files that require frequent updates. No need to worry about sending large files that only get larger as more amendments and updates are added to it. Just automatically create a "patch" consisting of only the changes and send that to your colleagues. The patch can easily and quickly be applied to their copy of the file. No mess, no fuss.

As well as these, there is also FindOnClick for quickly finding files, ScrambleOnClick to quickly encrypt and decrypt text and UndeleteOnClick to recover deleted files.

SyncBack Touch

SyncBack Touch is a cross-platform service that works with SyncBackPro or SyncBackSE to remotely access a device’s file system in order to perform backup/restore and sync operations. Simply install SyncBack Touch on the device you want to access (Windows, macOS, Linux or Android) then create a profile on SyncBackPro/SE to copy files to and from that device. For example, backup all your photos as soon as your mobile device connects to your local Wi-Fi!

Locked Files? No Problem. Install SyncBack Touch locally so there's no need to run SyncBackPro/SE as an admin to copy locked files. Access all files on Windows without access rights issues! Great not only for the home, but perfect for organizations with multiple users. The user has nothing to configure or tamper with, and all network communication is encrypted.

SyncBack Touch is free to use with SyncBackPro/SE V10 and newer.

SyncBack Management System

The SyncBack Management System (SBMS) increases security, accountability and reporting with one simple to use solution. The SBMS provides invaluable tools for the system administrator to monitor and manage multiple backup profiles created by SyncBackPro across a network.

• Limit what users can do with SyncBackPro, e.g. stop users from creating their own profiles.
• Track which profiles are being run, their results and their run history.
• Remotely manage SyncBackPro profiles.
• Control access to your backup database based on individual client machine IP Addresses, and store a security profile for each user.
• Allocate users and profiles to groups.

SBMS is free to use with SyncBackPro V10 and newer.

SysLog Service and Client

SysLog Server is a free SysLog server capable of collecting log messages from various devices or applications over the network, and stored to a centralized location on the server. The SysLog Server installs and runs as an unattended Windows service. The accompanying SysLog Client application can be used to view the saved logs. RFC 5424 and RFC 3164 SysLog protocols are followed.
