The survey will only take a couple of minutes of your time, and the
results will be immediately viewable so you can compare your answers
with others.

Specialist Groups - The Cook Within Us
Calling
all chefs and chef wannabes! This section
is for you!
Have you ever wanted to compile all your favorite recipes into your very own
personal digital recipe book? Would you like to be able to easily plan the dishes
you will be cooking for your dinner party, create your grocery list way in advance
and also prepare a cocktail and wine list for the evening? How about bookmarking
all your favorite cooking and recipe sites, with the ability to jot notes down
for each bookmark? If so, you're in luck because our newest product, InfoHesive,
will allow you to do just that and even more. More? Sure! You can build a cookbook
specially for family recipes that have been passed down through the generations
and share them with all your family members, if you can trust them, of course.
To protect the family secrets from leaking out, you can password protect the
digital cookbook and even compress it for easy sharing through e-mails and websites.
If you have documents that already contain your recipes and you want to include
them in InfoHesive, FindOnClick can help you with that. Instead of going from
folder to folder to locate all your previously saved recipes, use FindOnClick
to locate them for you. For example, for all or most of your recipe documents,
the word "ingredients" should
be present in them. Use that keyword to search for your files and, in seconds,
all files containing the word "ingredients" will be presented to you. You can then open the files from FindOnClick, or move
them into InfoHesive permanently.
PatchOnClick will also come in handy if you are sharing or publishing your digital
cookbooks. Instead of sending full copies of a file when the file has been updated,
all you have to do is to create a patch that will contain only updated information
of an original file and you will be able to publish that patch for easy download.
This will save your recipient a lot of download time, which is always a good
thing.
Finally, one of the least talked about, but often regretted tasks is none other
than backing up your digital information. Data loss affects even the best of
computer users and should be treated very seriously. SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro
backup and synchronization software feature both easy and expert modes, which
makes it suitable for both the novice and advanced computer user. Never worry
about manually making copies of your data files as SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro
automate this mundane task as often as you order it to.
All the above mentioned software offer a fully functional 30 day evaluation period,
and PatchOnClick comes in a freeware version. So, don't feel pressured to purchase
any of our software. Just download, try it and if you love it as much as we do,
buy it!

Staff Sparks
As some of you may know, I live in the UK. Every
so often I take a trip to work with my colleagues in Singapore. Last time while
I was over I took some photos you might like to see. Don't worry, I'm not suggesting
you look at some dreary pictures of bleary-eyed developers working at their computers.
The photos you'll find on the web page I've linked to below are of urban and
rural landscapes of Singapore and Pulau Bintan, a small island 20 km (12.5 miles)
off
Singapore's
south coast:
http://www.2brightsparks.com/resources/singapore.html
I was struck by the difference between the urban coastline of Singapore which
has become the world's busiest port and the home of 2BrightSparks, and that of
Pulau Bintan which continues to boast unspoilt silver sands edged by palm trees.
Although digital photography hasn't quite caught up with traditional film,
within
5
short
years
there is little doubt it will surpass it. I hope you enjoy the images.

Tip
of the Month by Richard Gascoigne
Last time I gave a tip I
went through the steps on how to create hotkeys so that you can automatically
paste the contents of your article into your email composer or a word
processor document. Now, I would like to tell you about another use
for hotkeys.
I have several programs and files that I use on a regular basis and
I get tired of having to scroll through the folders to access the files
that I need. It is also not an alternative to clutter up my Desktop
with those files. So, my solution is to create an InfoHesive Project
that contains only links to those files and programs that I require
regularly. Then I assign hotkeys to them and with the F6 key and a
few keystrokes, the file I need opens up. This is how you do it:
1) Create a new InfoHesive Project.
2) Either:
i) Drag the file or program that you want to link to from Windows Explorer
and drop it onto the Outliner (Left hand side of the InfoHesive Window),
or
ii) Select “New File Item” from the Outliner menu or a right-click
on a Topic, and select the file.
3) Right-click on the newly-created File Item.
4) Select "Hotkey for Item".
(You can skip steps 2 and 3 by the hotkeys Shift+Ctrl+I)
5) Select either Option A, where you assign a system wide hotkey like
Shift+Alt+F1 or Option B. In this option, you assign a starter hotkey
where the default is F6 and then select a combination of keystrokes
that best identifies the File Item.
Easy peasy!
