SyncBackSE V4.3 Update

The latest release of SyncBackSE V4.3 is now available as a free upgrade for all those who have paid for a SyncBackSE license. The upgrade includes fixes for those using Vista 64, an updated Dutch translation translation by Hans Fraiponts, and an improved help file.

To upgrade from earlier versions of SyncBackSE simply download and install over your old version. Note that this is not an upgrade to SyncBack freeware.

SyncBackSE and SyncBack Freeware

There are two versions of our SyncBack software: SyncBackSE, which is our award-winning US$30.00 software, and SyncBack freeware, which is free. The latest version of SyncBack freeware is V3.2.14.

OnClick Utilities Updates

Five of the eight programs that go to make OnClick Utilities have been updated with new features and fixes. The updated versions are free to all licensees of FindOnClick, UndeleteOnClick, and OnClick Utilities.

FindOnClick now excludes empty files in searches and a search summary is shown if the program is run from the shortcut.

In UndeleteOnClick you can now preview images (,jpg .gif) and text files before undeleting them.

HashOnClick notifies the user of the number of matching hash values found in the clipboard, and will search the clipboard again for matching hash values if the clipboard contents changes.

TrayOnClick, which remains at Beta stage, has a useful "close all windows" command.

Recovering Lost Photos

Many of us enjoy the convenience of digital photography. Digital photos are easily shared with family and friends via email or the web, are easily stored, occupy minimal space, and are also more cost effective as only the best photos can be selected for developing.

Digital cameras also offer quick deletion of photos which is not always a good thing. Imagine you are on holiday and you have just spent a great day out taking photos at the zoo. Before you could upload your photos from the camera's memory card to your laptop, you accidentally deleted all the photos with one swift move while chatting away on the phone with a friend. A huge sense of disappointment sends a shiver down your spine, you panic but what can you do? Unfortunately, having a good backup plan in place is not enough in this case since there was nothing to backup from your laptop in the first place!

What you need in this situation is a program to undelete the photos. We offer our very own UndeleteOnClick, which is part of the OnClick Utilities package that does just as its name says. All you have to do is connect your digital camera or the camera's memory card to your laptop immediately (do not use the camera to take any more photos as you significantly lesson your chances of undeleting your treasured images), open UndeleteOnClick, select the drive to scan, then select the filters to let UndeleteOnClick do its magic. Within seconds, UndeleteOnClick will provide you with a list of files that have been deleted. You can then select the specific files to undelete. It also provides the condition that the files are in, which ranges from "Good" that means undeleting the file is not a problem, to "Lost" that means the file is not recoverable. The only thing left to do now is to select the files to be undeleted and click on the "Undelete Selected" button. How simple is that? It truly is!

The latest version of UndeleteOnClick just released has a valuable new feature that's perfect for photographers. The program will now let the user preview images (and text files) before undeleting them! Many image formats like .jpg and .gif are supported.

Why do I need HashOnClick?

Ever wondered if a file of yours had been tampered with or you simply need to know if two files are identical? Well, HashOnClick will be your new found friend.

HashOnClick offers ten different algorithms that allow you to calculate the hash values of any Windows files. The different algorithms calculate hash values with different levels of security. In simpler terms, a hash value can be seen as a file's "fingerprint", therefore all hash values are unique.

An example of when you might want to use HashOnClick is if you often send files via email to colleagues at work and need a way to ensure that the file sent is identical to the file received, you can use HashOnClick to generate the hash value and send it along with the file. The person receiving the file will then calculate the hash value with the same algorithm and if the hash values do not match, you will know that the two files are not identical. This is the perfect way of detecting any errors that may have occurred during transmission.

Since my first chat with Richard Gascoigne, Michael J. Leaver and Mike de Sousa, I appreciated their emphasis on customer care. This fact made me very happy because I was also of the same wavelength and I thank God for making me a part of this company.

I work in a virtual office and this has given me a good opportunity to spend quality time with my family and my hobbies like playing my accordion. This virtual office system works very well for me and my family, especially for my two year old daughter Evangeline... She always bids bye to me when I enter my computer room and waits patiently for my short breaks that I have in-between... She comes running to me when I come out of the room, a joy that sets my break off to a great start.
