In this update, we tell you about two features introduced in SyncBack V11 and changes to Upgrade Assurance. Additionally, SyncBack has been updated. For a comprehensive list of changes, please visit our changes page.

Upgrade Assurance

Introduced in 2017 with SyncBack V8, Upgrade Assurance is an optional subscription that ensures you receive all major version upgrades of SyncBackPro or SyncBackSE for free, along with priority support from our dedicated helpdesk. With Upgrade Assurance, you will always have access to the latest features and improvements without any additional upgrade fees. For more details, please refer to our KB article.

Previously, Upgrade Assurance could only be subscribed to at the time of purchasing SyncBackPro/SE, upgrading to the latest major version, or within 30 days after your purchase. We are pleased to announce that you can now subscribe to Upgrade Assurance at any point after purchasing or upgrading (as long as you have purchased the current major version or received a free upgrade to it).

In the coming months, we plan to add a major benefit to Upgrade Assurance, greatly enhancing its value. We will provide further details once this is ready.

Visit our Upgrade Store to check if you can purchase Upgrade Assurance.

New V11 Features

System Restore Points: SyncBackPro/SE V11 now allows you to create Windows System Restore Points when performing a restore. This feature prompts you to create a System Restore Point before starting the restoration of your files. A System Restore Point captures a snapshot of your system files and Windows registry at a specific moment in time. This can be invaluable if the restore operation causes any system instability or corruption, as it allows you to revert your system back to its prior state easily. This means you can restore your operating system and application settings without needing to reinstall Windows. This enhancement ensures that your restore operations are safer and more reliable, providing a fail-safe mechanism that can save you significant time and effort in case of any issues. For more details, see the help file.

Power Management: With SyncBack V11, when battery saver (Energy Saver) is enabled in Windows, all running profiles are paused and background backups are not started. If your computer switches to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), SyncBack will treat it as entering battery saving mode. This feature is incredibly useful during power outages or fluctuations, as it prevents potential data corruption and system strain that could occur if backup processes were to continue running on limited power. By pausing operations, SyncBack ensures that your backup tasks will resume seamlessly once stable power is restored, maintaining the integrity of your data and minimizing risks. For more details, see the help file.
