SyncBackSE V4.2.6.0 Update

The latest release of SyncBackSE V4.2.6.0 is now available as a free upgrade for all those who have paid for a SyncBackSE license. To upgrade from earlier versions of SyncBackSE simply download and install over your old version. Note that this is not an upgrade to SyncBack freeware.

There are two versions of our SyncBack software: SyncBackSE, which is our award-winning $30.00 software, and SyncBack freeware, which is free. The latest version of SyncBack freeware is V3.2.14.

Windows 98, ME, and NT Support for SyncBackSE

Starting with V4.1, and in line with Microsoft's support policy, SyncBackSE no longer runs on versions of Windows older than Windows 2000 SP4. If you are using Windows 98, 98SE, ME, or NT 4 then the last version of SyncBackSE to run on those versions of Windows is V4.0.

Specialist Groups - Photographers

Digital cameras have all but replaced the traditional film camera. Their convenience and space saving digital photos mean you need not worry about keeping all those developed strips or reels of film pilled high in a cupboard you'll likely not return to.

Most amateur photographers store their digital photos in Windows folders like "My Pictures" located in "My Documents", and as for professional photographers, they may store their photos in version folders as they edit in Photoshop or similar programs.

Though very convenient, digital camera photographers have to bare in mind that backing up their digital photos should be their top priority. Otherwise, in the case of a hard disk malfunction or theft, all their precious photos will be lost - forever!

SyncBackSE has an "Easy" mode that has sufficient functions for the hobby photographer who simply wants to backup their "My Pictures" folder to an external hard drive or an online backup service provider. There is also an "Expert" option that contains a comprehensive variety of functions that even military and government agencies find sufficient. The professional photographer will find the "Expert" mode valuable, which includes the ability to compress the photos to a manageable size in order to minimize the backup times. Professional photographers might also find it useful to use the synchronization function to sync his/her work and home computers so that both computers contain the same photos and edited images.

If you are a photographer, remember that simply backing up your photos is not enough to keep them safe. You need to think about storing the backups in a safe and offsite location. It could be in a family member's or friend's home, or a professional offsite storage facility for professional photographers.

How to protect your unwanted files from preying hands with DeleteOnClick

Many of us have some form of data files that require protection even after deletion. Examples include company project proposals, sales projections, product marketing ideas, customer records, the list is endless.

Simply deleting the file and emptying the Recycle Bin does not guarantee that it is irretrievable. when a file is deleted in Windows the space on the hard drive that was allocated to the file is freed up and made available for writing. Therefore, the deleted file is recoverable with the help of programs like our very own UnDeleteOnClick. This may be useful in cases where a file is deleted by accident, but when a file is deleted intentionally to protect the information from preying hands, it's not such a good thing.

Hi there. I'm Debbie Wong-Grignani and I handle all non-technical customer queries. I am also involved in article writing and the production of these newsletters that you receive monthly. Having previously had 2 years of database programming for a research group in the University of Oxford, I am also able to be involved in providing in-house database management as well. The way I like it - getting involved in so many different aspects of the company.

I have to say that I happened to be at the right place at the right time when 2BrightSparks was looking for a new addition their company. The job description sounded good and it was made perfect with the fact that it said "must be willing to work from home". I required a home-based job as I too had a new addition to the family - a then 5 month old baby boy. A week after application, I received a call from Richard Gascoigne inviting me to an interview. Within a week, I was part of the team! I thank my lucky stars and of course 2BrightSparks to have been given this great and rare opportunity to work with such a great team of people and at the same time, see my baby grow up.
