Hi,
I'm just replacing an old backup system that does differential backups.
We have a lot of large (VERY large) files used by a database server that in most of the cases are just opened or simply added (or deleted) a few db records.
As the old backup system is not smart enough, it simply backups the whole file even if its content has changed on a 0,001%...meaning a high cost on space and performance.
I use to run some backups on Linux with free GPL tools and one of the features I like more is that it can detect differences of a backed-up file and its newer version at binary level, backing up just the differences and not the whole file.
The question is simple: Does SyncBackSE has such "smart" differential backup?. Could it Just backup modified content on a file instead of the whole modified file?
Thanks and best regards. |

Sorry, no, it does not have this option
It might be on their to-do list, but so are a lot of things...
